CAUP CHESS ARBITRATION SEMINAR IN MAKATI CITY
MAY 20 & 21, 2017 (SATURDAY and SUNDAY) 9AM TO 5PM

THE CHESS ARBITERS UNION OF THE PHILIPPINES (CAUP) in cooperation with YSDD & CHAMP will hold the Chess Arbitration Seminar at Makati City Hall 2 9th Flr YSDD, Makati City on May 20 & 21, 2017, according to CAUP Chairman International Arbiter Generoso Poliarco.

THE TWO (2) DAY SEMINAR is open to all coaches, trainers, public and private school teachers, amateurs, professionals or individuals who want to learn the rudiments of proper officiating in chess tournaments -- be it club, local, regional, national or international chess competitions - according to FIDE standards. Facilitators/lecturers are veteran International Arbiters Generoso Poliarco and Ilann Perez. They will be assisted by competent FIDE Arbiters and National Arbiters.

THE ARBITER’S COURSE will cover the study of FIDE Laws of Chess (as amended which took effect on July 1, 2017), including regulations for individual and team Swiss System and Round Robin tournaments. To be tackled also are the FIDE Rating Systems, Tie-Breaks, Manual and Swiss Manager pairing systems, Rules of Chess 960 (Random Chess), Arbiters’ Guide, various tournament time controls, determination and awarding of norms and titles, among other topics. This arbitration seminar aims to equip the attendees with scientific and in-depth know-how on chess arbitration in accordance with FIDE regulations.

SEMINAR FEE is pegged at P2,500.00 which will include Arbiters’ Manuals, Arbiters’ Guides, Certificate of Attendance and Arbiter’s Title, License ID cards as Club Arbiter, lunch and other hand-outs.

ARBITERS who have already attended previous arbitration seminar are likewise encouraged to attend a Refreshers’ Course for a minimal fee, particularly those who are due for promotion to the next rank. They will also be given certificates of promotion, handouts and ID cards bearing their newly-acquired title.

“FIRST-COME - FIRST SERVED BASIS”shall be applied in the seminar which is acceptable thirty to 40 participants (30-40) participants.
